Red Fort Blast Case: Barely hours after a high alert was issued across Delhi and neighbouring states, the Delhi Police traced a red Ford EcoSport car believed to be linked to the Red Fort blast that claimed nine lives earlier this week.
The vehicle, bearing registration number DL10CK0458, was found abandoned at a farmhouse in Khandavali village, Haryana, according to police officials. The car was suspected to have been used by the main accused in the case, Dr. Umar Un Nabi, who is believed to be part of a larger terror network operating across northern India.
Connection to the Red Fort Blast
The discovery comes just days after the explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, marking one of the deadliest security incidents since the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir, where 26 people were killed.
Investigators revealed that apart from the Hyundai i20 used in the explosion, the suspects were also in possession of another red-coloured vehicle, prompting police to issue an urgent alert across Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
Massive Search Operation
Multiple teams from the Delhi Police Special Cell, along with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh Police, were deployed to locate the vehicle. Border check posts were placed on high alert, and all units were instructed to scan parking areas, farms, and abandoned sites.
After hours of search, the red EcoSport was finally recovered from a farmhouse in Faridabad’s Khandavali village, believed to have been used for reconnaissance and escape operations by the accused.
Who Is Dr. Umar Un Nabi?
According to intelligence sources, Dr. Umar Un Nabi, the prime suspect, was associated with Al-Falah Medical College in Faridabad. He was allegedly working as part of an extensive terror module that has connections in Kashmir, Haryana, and Delhi.
Security agencies revealed that Dr. Umar had changed his location multiple times since October 19 due to increasing pressure from counter-terrorism units.
It was also found that the red EcoSport was purchased using fake documents and a forged address in North-East Delhi. A late-night raid was conducted at the mentioned address, confirming that the details were falsified.
University Responds
In a statement, Al-Falah University distanced itself from the accused, asserting its commitment to national security and cooperation with investigative agencies.
“We stand in solidarity with the nation and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to unity, peace, and security. The University is fully cooperating with the concerned authorities to reach a fair and conclusive determination,”
— Statement from Al-Falah University.
The institution clarified that it has been managed by the Al-Falah Group since 1997, became autonomous in 2009, and gained university status in 2014.
Heightened Security Across Delhi
Following the recovery of the vehicle, security forces have intensified surveillance across sensitive areas of Delhi. All border units have been directed to stay alert, and security checks at major transit points have been strengthened.
Officials suspect that Dr. Umar may have used the vehicle for reconnaissance activities before the Red Fort explosion, which killed nine people and injured several others.
The recovery of the red EcoSport marks a major breakthrough in the Red Fort blast probe. Investigations are underway to uncover the broader network behind the attack and to trace the movements of the accused and his associates across multiple states.
Authorities have assured that national security remains the top priority, and further arrests are expected soon as the probe progresses.
