Directed by Aditya Dhar, the high-octane spy thriller has not only witnessed record-breaking collections but has also turned cinema halls into round-the-clock entertainment hubs with midnight and post-midnight screenings across major cities.

Midnight Shows Signal Unprecedented Demand

In an extraordinary move driven purely by audience demand, multiplexes in Mumbai and Pune introduced midnight and early-morning shows during the film’s second weekend. Pune led the trend with a 12:20 am screening, followed closely by Mumbai at 12:45 am. What began as a limited experiment quickly expanded into a packed overnight schedule, with shows running till as late as 4:10 am.

Despite the film’s lengthy runtime of approximately three and a half hours, audiences willingly spent the entire night inside theatres, transforming Dhurandhar into a weekend night-out experience. Record-Breaking Second Weekend Performance

The Aditya Dhar directorial has rewritten box office history by delivering the highest second weekend ever for a Hindi film. On its second Friday, Dhurandhar registered the biggest second-Friday collection in Bollywood history. The momentum continued through Saturday and peaked on Sunday, when the film collected ₹59 crore net in India, marking its highest single-day haul so far.

In just ten days, Dhurandhar amassed ₹351.75 crore net (₹422 crore gross) in India, closing its second weekend with domestic earnings of ₹144.50 crore, nearly 40% higher than its opening weekend.

Crosses ₹500 Crore Worldwide in Just 10 Days

The film’s overseas performance, though modest initially, gained strong traction during its second weekend due to positive audience response. According to trade estimates, Dhurandhar has earned over $12 million overseas in ten days, with more than $4.5 million coming from the second weekend alone.

With this, the film’s worldwide box office collection has crossed ₹530 crore, making it one of the fastest Hindi films to breach the ₹500 crore global mark.

No Gulf Release, Yet No Slowdown

Interestingly, Dhurandhar has not released in Gulf countries, a market traditionally considered important for Hindi films. However, trade experts believe the impact has been minimal. The film has already generated approximately ₹65 crore from overseas markets, and the Gulf contribution would have added only a marginal ₹4–5 crore.

With domestic collections remaining the primary revenue driver and midnight shows increasing screen counts, industry analysts now expect Dhurandhar to comfortably enter the ₹500 crore India gross club, with the potential to even chase the rare ₹600 crore milestone if momentum holds.

Surpasses Several Blockbusters

By crossing ₹530 crore worldwide, Dhurandhar has surpassed the lifetime global collections of several major blockbusters, including:

• Coolie – ₹518 crore

• Dunki – ₹470 crore

• War – ₹449 crore

• Pushpa: The Rise – ₹365 crore

Only a handful of 2025 releases currently stand ahead of it, including Kantara Chapter One, Chhaava, and Saiyaara.

Dhurandhar features an ensemble cast led by Ranveer Singh, alongside Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.
