Date: October 28, 2025 (Monday), Usha Arghya Muhurat: 5:55 AM – 6:20 AM. Tithi: Shashthi ends this morning, marking the completion of the four-day festival.

Date & Time (2025) 

The Usha Arghya (morning offering) is the last and most important ritual of Chhath Puja. Devotees offer water, milk, and fruits to the rising Sun — symbolizing the triumph of light and life over darkness.

What is Usha Arghya? 

Devotees reach the riverbank before sunrise. Prepare a bamboo basket with fruits, thekua, sugarcane, and diyas. Offer Arghya (water & milk) to Surya Dev while chanting mantras. Pray for family health, happiness, and prosperity.

Puja Vidhi  

Usha Arghya represents new beginnings and hope. It celebrates the divine energy of the rising Sun — the source of power and healing. Women thank Chhathi Maiya for fulfilling their wishes and protecting their children.

Symbolism of the Ritual 

Thekua – the traditional sweet made of wheat, jaggery & ghee. Bananas, coconuts, sugarcane & raw milk are offered. Kaddu-Bhaat and Chana Dal mark the end of fasting.

Food & Offerings (Prasad) 

The ghats of Bihar, Jharkhand, and eastern Uttar Pradesh light up with lamps and chants. Riverbanks of Ganga, Kosi, and Yamuna witness lakhs of devotees singing Chhath geet.
